Apple Watch Companion App
planned

Add pulse Ox to this as well! The user interface is perfect for the associated BLE devices for HR and pulse Ox. But I have a apple watch that does both pulse ox and HR and seems a shame to not be able to just use that for everything! Cheers!

John Donovan: Unfortunately, Apple Watches don't provide real-time access to SpO2 readings, so there is nothing we can do. This is a platform limitation.

Hey there! Finally the stand-alone version is available!
Please give it a try and let me know how it works for you

Valeriy Kovalenko: Hey there - I’m having trouble pairing my watch with the mobile app. I followed the steps in the support section of the app but cannot figure out where to enter the pairing code in the app.
Looks great so far!

Rory Stark: Make sure you have 6.2.0 version on your mobile phone. On the settings page there is a new option.
Felix Neubauer
Valeriy Kovalenko:
I downloaded the app for Apple Watch. Then I started the app on both devices and did the pairing process (with the code shown on watch and entered on phone). Afterwards the watch was still not shown on the iPhone app. After restarting the app, it is now shown. But when I start training on the app, it says no measuring device would be connected. And on the watch I don’t see my tables. Will experiment around with it some more.
Happy to see the app available now though :)

Felix Neubauer:
This is a stand-alone app, not a companion. So it will not measure your HR when you do exercises on your mobile phone (we still have a companion app on our todo list), however the stand-alone app will let you do exercises without the phone. Tables are synced from the phone, history will be synced back to the phone.

Valeriy Kovalenko: Got it! Thanks for the assist!
Felix Neubauer
Valeriy Kovalenko: ah okay thanks, that is Good to know. When are the tables synced and is there some way to force synchronization? I still don’t see any tables and only the “personal best” entry on my watch.
V
Valeriy Kovalenko
Felix Neubauer: Tables are synced when the app starts. I wonder if you have an active subscription?
Felix Neubauer
Valeriy Kovalenko:
I signed in and out again and some tables synced now.
Also I might add that on the iPhone app I always have to login and restore premium whenever I start the app, the state seems to not remain persisted. I’m using the login via Apple mechanism.

Felix Neubauer: Oh wow, that's a bug! I wonder if you can send me a message by email so we can do some test iterations? I want to fix it.
Felix Neubauer
Valeriy Kovalenko: uhm okay, which email to use? I would also have discord and other messengers.
V
Valeriy Kovalenko
Felix Neubauer: STAmina doesn't have a discord server (yet? maybe we need one?). In the mobile app you can tap about -> contact us, or you can find me on FB, we have a STAmina Beta group in there to discuss things

Valeriy Kovalenko: A short question, "history will be synced back to the phone" means, this feature will be implemented, or is it already in place? In my case I noticed that restarting both apps benefits quite a lot. Multiple restart. Otherwise I had problems. After some "reboot", seems synched properly, but, if I record a table on my Apple Watch, it is not seen on the iPhone even after multiple restarts (even if other apps on my phone sees the activity, time, duration,... from iHealth I believe).
This reboot procedure may just mean some synch problem, or some variables that are not updated... Anyway, great improvement!

Prakash: The synchronization is already in place; however, at the moment:
The mobile app initiates the sync when it is started or when any changes are made (e.g., creating an exercise or adding a new history item).
The watch app only syncs upon start.
We are seeking UX improvements to make the process more seamless and eliminate the need to restart the app. Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Valeriy Kovalenko: Where is a good place to write you some glitches (specific for the Apple Watch app), when I find them?
For example:
1) at the moment I've changed a table (from +10" to +11") and in the Apple Watch app I see now 2 tables with the same name.
2) Tried again to complete another O2 table from the Apple Watch app, everything fine, but doesn't synch with the iPhone "History" (other iPhone apps recognize the workout, so it's more on the iPhone side than on the Apple Watch side, I believe)
3) I will try a Personal Best, but last time when I double-tapped to input a contraction, it just ended the interval... :-(
Thank you

Prakash: You can always open tickets in here: https://feedback.getstamina.app/bugs or contact me by email (About -> contact us in the mobile app). I highly encourage you to report any even minor issues you experience, such as bugs or UI/UX concerns. This is the very first version of the app, and flaws were expected. But the more we know about them, the better the app will be.

Please consider taking advantage of the Apple Watch Ultra capabilities to add the additional functionality to the apple watch app.

Valeriy Kovalenko
h2ogeek: hey! Any ideas of how users of STAmina can benefit from the AW Ultra capabilities?
h2ogeek
Valeriy Kovalenko:
Ultra
1.- You may activate the siren incase some key vital signals are below certain threshold.
2.- Use the Depth gauge with water temperature sensor to only track the data or set custom profiles.
Generic
Having an app that set table and uses the builtin sensors in the AW Serie 8, will help your users to better understand if is safe to push the body to the upper limits. No more guessing ;-).
Is possible to do that right now, using 2 apps (AW workout app, and iOS Stamin). Which is not ideal!. Plus is hard to correlate tables and workout data, unless you use a 3rd app to know what specific table you used certain day :-/.
IMO Options 1 and 2 are nice to have, but the Generic one shall be the starting point.

Yes please!!! That would be absolutely perfect and a no brainer!
Tim Hill
1000% on this ... even enabling the App pull HR & SpO2 from the watch would be a quantum leap forward.
Tim Rideout
With the Apple Watch being perfect for tracking your HR and O2, this should be a no-brainer! #YouCanDoIt
